High-performance leather and foam material made out of recycled car windshields
LEATHER AND FOAM MADE OF POST-CONSUMER WASTE
LEATHER
THE ROAD TO RENEWAL
We are using recycled material to replace virgin petroleum raw material.
Unlike other parts of the automobile, car windshields have always been discarded instead of recycled. The separation process isn’t easy, and the value is undiscovered.
FOAM
Step 1
Waste car windshields separation
Working with our recycling partners around the globe, we separate the two raw materials from car windshields, the PVB films and glass.
How FILIE® leather and foam are created?
Step 2
PVB film refinement
After the separation, the recycled PVB films are cleaned up and shredded into flakes for further processing
Step 3
PVB resins
The refined PVB flakes is then turned into a granulated form.
Recycled PVB top layer + Optional surface finish
Backing fabric
Recycled PVB leathers are composed of three
layers, each contributing unique attributes to
the overall quality and aesthetics of the product.
These layers are the surface Finish, Recycled PVB,
and layer and base Fabric.
Together, these layers ensure the recycled PVB
leathers perform effectively and maintain a
beautiful aesthetic.

Step 4
FILIE® Material
Melting the resin and coating it on the desired backing fabric, the sheet material is then embossed with texture and ready for use in various applications.
